To get free foodgrains till November, Ration card has to be linked to Aadhaar, know the complete process.  New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaram in March announced the 'Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana' under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan package.  Under this scheme, all poor families who have ration card and those who do not have five kg of wheat-rice and one kg of gaga per member will be allowed to vote for 2 months from April.

 Under this scheme, all the poor families who have ration card and those who do not have it will be given five kg of wheat-rice and one kg of chickpeas per member free of cost every month from April.  This is in addition to the current quota of foodgrains than those available on the free grain ration card.  Now the Prime Minister has announced to extend this till November 31.  Along with this, the government has also launched 'One Nation, One Ration Card' scheme.  Beneficiary will not be able to get cheap ration from PDS if it is not linked on the basis of ration card.


The village e-mitra, patwari and village secretary are authorized to link your ration card with the Aadhaar card.  You can get help from all this.  Apart from this you can also link Aadhaar with ration card online.

 The first step is to link the ration card with Aadhaar

Step 2 - Then click on the 'Star Now' option, enter the address in it, select the 'Ration Card' benefit type from all the options.

Step 3 - Then select the ration card plan and fill in the details like ration card number, Aadhaar number, e-mail address and mobile number.  Then enter the One Chime Password (OTP) on the registered mobile.

Step 4 - Then post the notification after completing the on-screen process.  Step 5: Once the application is verified, the ration card will be linked to Aadhaar.  Ration card portability service has been implemented in 20 states and union territories since June 1.
